A Summer of Benefits
Our greatest priority for our staff lies in our desire for them to grow spiritually and professionally, no matter their role here at COTW. We feel the benefits listed below all contribute to that overall goal during a summer spent at camp.
Benefits of Working at CAMP-of-the-WOODS
- Christian Community: Our staff is made up of over 250, college-age students. Many life-long friends are made during a summer spent at CAMP-of-the-WOODS.
- Staff Fellowship: Once a week our staff spends an evening worshiping together, listening to a word from our Staff Pastor, and meeting in small groups. This has been a highlight for so many staff, as they are able to grow together and take a break after a busy week. We prioritize this time of growth as a team of volunteers works in place of the staff.
- Gifted Chapel Speakers: Throughout the summer many of the summer staff will have the opportunity to listen to gifted chapel speakers such as Ravi Zacharias, Tony Evans, Alistair Begg, and Crawford Loritts.
- Internship Opportunities: Many positions at COTW enable internship credit in the following fields: Accounting/Finance, Business, Childhood Education, Communications, Culinary Arts, Hospitality & Hotel Management, Marketing, Ministry, Nursing, Outdoor Education, Visual Arts, and others! - Job Variety: We hire over 300 students for over 20 different departments. With different departments and positions within those departments, we have jobs for those looking for a leadership opportunity and those who have never had a job.
- Professional Experience: Whether you are in a leadership role or behind the scenes, you will gain experience in the professional world.
- Beautiful Setting: The Adirondacks are the largest State Park in the continental United States. Many of our staff enjoy time spent in the High Peaks Wilderness, or just enjoying the beauty of the many lakes and ideal summer temperatures.
- Staff Accommodations: We seek to offer dormitories that are honoring to our staff. Within each dorm staff have access to a partial kitchen, free laundry and a large common area. Each room has its own bathroom and shower (main dorms).
- Food: All three meals of the day are provided for in our family dining hall. There is also a grill eatery located in camp, as well as several options in town.
- Excellent Facilities: Staff will be able to utilize our huge sports complex. Our sports complex is equipped with 4 indoor and 2 outdoor courts, a game room, climbing wall room, and a classroom. On our facilities staff can also utilize our tennis courts, sand volleyball court, 18 hole mini-golf course, and pickleball courts.
- Lake Access: CAMP-of-the-WOODS is located on a beautiful, white-sand beach on Lake Pleasant.
- Boat Access: Staff can utilize many of our boats, free of charge! Staff can rent canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, sunfish, and sail boats.
- WiFi & Cell Phone Coverage: Since we function more as a resort, there is Wi-Fi available in all dorms and most work buildings.
